Dinard – The most beautiful show in the world!

For myself and the entire team at IN Showjumpers this remains top of our list as the most beautiful show in the competition calendar, with fantastic sport at the very top level and an electric atmosphere created by the ever enthusiastic French crowds.

Also to profile and educate the young horses it is second to none, always providing educational/ challenging tracks on the fantastic grass arena for the high profile competitors who flock from around the world to this paradise in far west corner of France.

I took the 9 year old, Knockout Van’t Paradjis, the 8 year old Loeki Van’t Lindenhof Z and the 7 year old mare Ma Pomme De Tamerville. Ma Pomme De Tamerville may have been the youngest but she was not to be outdone by the men! She jumped three impressive clear rounds in the 7 year old classes on the super sand arena, finishing with a placing in the seven year old final on Saturday.

The eight year old Loeki Van’t Lindenhof (Toulon x Non Stop) was superb on the grass arena finishing with a placing in the CSI 5* 1.45m.

He really showed the benefit of the investment in his education at Spruce Meadows earlier in the
summer. He is stepping up to be a super competition horse for the top level sport and there is no doubt that he will win a lot as he is naturally fast and careful.

Also I have to say Knockout jumped his socks off and is really starting to develop in his technique. I believe we are knocking on the door to jumping some clear rounds in 5* Grand Prixs over the next 6 months. For a 9 year old we have asked him to step up very rapidly this year so he has had to learn on the gallop!.... but I couldn’t have been more happy with the development that is starting to show. He will benefit now from a well earned rest during August at our home stables enjoying the English summer in the paddocks.
